Since co-founding Nexus Strategies in 2007, Scott Falmlen has helped coordinate and execute strategic planning, communication, and outreach for industry and commerce in the financial, utilities, media, manufacturing, educational, health care, and non-profit sectors.

Falmlen has earned a reputation for attention to detail in designing and implementing customized plans for grasstops and grassroots coalition recruitment, internal and external communication strategies, earned media development, and one-on-one advocacy. His work also involves assisting individuals and organizations in negotiating government bureaucracies that can all too often seem like a confusing maze of competing and conflicting organizational charts.

For over twenty-five years, Falmlen has been active in public service, advising elected officials at the highest levels of government at the federal and state level. In addition, from 2009-2012, Falmlen served as a gubernatorial appointed member of the NC State Banking Commission, which directs and reviews the activities of the Office of Commissioner of Banks under North Carolina banking laws.

In 2013, Campaigns & Elections magazine named Falmlen one of the top ten political influencers in North Carolina.

Falmlen was the executive director of the North Carolina Democratic Party from 1999-2005 and the Florida Democratic Party from 1995-1999. During his tenure in North Carolina, Falmlen also served as president of the Association of State Democratic Executive Directors, building a network of policy and political contacts across the nation. Prior to 1995, Falmlen served as a senior advisor to Florida Governor Lawton Chiles and as chief of staff to the majority leader of the Florida Senate.

Falmlen has provided analysis on policy and politics to various media outlets, including major newspapers, television and radio news organizations, public affairs programs and forums, and national organizations such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, CNN, and Fox News.

Scott Falmlen received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with Minors in Business and History from Georgetown College.
